Vintage c.1960's Mid Century Modern Maurice Burke (Model 115) tulip style chair, in yellow vinyl upholstery, with patterned faux fur removable seat cushion, and cast aluminum propeller base.
Designed by Maurice P. Burke, born in Canada in 1921 and died 2013. Stamped on the bottom of the propeller base with patient number and manufacturer "Burke Division Brunswick Corporation" (see photos for reference). A 1962 patent application from 1962 for a chair swivel invention relates to a return mechanism for swivels used for this chair. What this means is that after you twist the seat, it automatically returns to the original position once the person stands up.
