The gilded and painted cartouche decoration is refined and detailed, on a black painted ground. The fittings are high quality antique brass with double pull chains, and incorporate the warming tray that went with the vessel. Late 19th century, with 20th century brass electrical fittings. Good antique condition with some wear, sporadic losses to the painted surface. Newly re-wired. New shade.
