This mochi mortar is our oldest and most exquisite piece. The texture of the ancient wood resembles that of an elephant's hide.

Beautifully weathered wood, a unique and highly sought-after interior piece, steeped in history.

This Mochi-Tsuki Usu was traditionally used in the making of mochi, a Japanese rice dessert. Mochi is created by pounding glutinous rice into a sticky dough ball. Using the wooden pestle, the rice is finely pounded and kneaded into a cohesive mass. This process requires strength and patience, as the rice grains must be fully processed into a cohesive dough.
