*The Drexel Furniture Company, once a titan in the American furniture industry, holds a significant place in design history. Its journey, spanning over a century from 1903 to 1993, witnessed multiple transformations, leaving behind a legacy of iconic pieces and innovation. Founded in Drexel, North Carolina, by Richard and Theodore Hedrick, they started with wooden bed frames.Gradually, they expanded their offerings to include bedroom furniture, dining room sets, and upholstered pieces. Quality craftsmanship and affordable prices became their hallmarks,establishing them as a leading furniture manufacturer in the Southeast. The 1930s saw them embrace Art Deco influences, introducing sleek lines and luxurious materials into their designs. The post-war period was a golden age for Drexel. They capitalized on the booming housing market, creating furniture that embodied the aspirational Mid-century Modern aesthetic. Collaborations with renowned designers like John Van Koert, Edward Wormley,and George Nakashima resulted in iconic pieces like the Tri-Sens chest of drawers and the Drexel Declaration sideboard. Their furniture blended elegance, functionality, and affordability,appealing to a wider audience who desired modern living. The 1960s and 70s saw Drexel expand into contemporary styles and acquire other furniture companies. However, competition from overseas manufacturers and changing consumer preferences presented challenges. To adapt, they introduced the Heritage Hill Line, offering reproductions of antique furniture, but it couldn't fully stem the tide. Ultimately, Drexel filed for bankruptcy in 1993, marking the end of an era. Despite its closure, Drexel furniture remains highly collectible, especially pieces from the Mid-century Modern era. These pieces are valued for their classic design, quality craftsmanship, and historical significance. Drexel's influence on American furniture design is undeniable. Their contributions to the Mid-century Modern movement solidified their place as a pioneer in bringing stylish and functional furniture to the masses.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final

Cancellations
