Fantastic original still life oil on canvas by well-known Danish artist, Knud Eel. This would make an excellent kitchen painting. Measures 14" x 19". Unframed.
ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY:
Knud Eel Peter Larsen was born on January 2, 1914 in Hellested, Denmark. He was a Jutland peasant and landscape painter of the genre depicting folk life. As one of the few who continued the tradition of the Skagen painters, he was pretty much alone with his painting. He had an immediate joy in painting, an inspired vision of color and a sense of characteristic figures and situations.

Drawing lessons through Danmark Brevskole. (Axel Bredsdorff) 1930-1931, later guided by friends Herluf Bidstrup and Marius Engber,; The Academy of Arts. Copenhagen, graphic school, (Aksel Jørgensen) 1935-1941.

Knud Eel passed away on September 12, 1968 at the age of 54.
