Beech wood, bent beech wood, plywood, … Read more Gebrüder Thonet, Chair 6009, later B9, also known as the 'Corbusier chair', circa 1904. Beech wood, bent beech wood, plywood, dark stained. This chair became famous when Le Corbusier used it for his "Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau" at the "Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs" in Paris in 1925; the chair was also often featured in Le Corbusier's later homes and furnishings; it is therefore often colloquially referred to as the "Corbusier chair." It is marked Thonet under the seat. Visible in photo.
