French Mid Century Picasso Influenced stylised zoomorphic female nude drawing, oil crayon on paper, Paris School, signed and dated 1963. The work is presented in a chrome period frame.
Elegant and interesting interpretation, with beautiful line, in this faintly geometric rendering of a female nude. Part figure, part object. Similar in feel to the ceramics created at this same period by Picasso at Vallauris. The treatment of the head and hair also suggests an Asian influence.
The artist is as yet unknown but shows a great confidence and originality.
The word zoomorphism derives from Ancient Greek for 'animal' and Ancient Greek for 'form; shape'. In the context of art, zoomorphism could describe art that imagines humans as non-human animals. It can also be defined as art that portrays one species of animal like another species of animal or art that uses animals as a visual motif, sometimes referred to as "animal style." In ancient Egyptian religion, deities were depicted in animal form which is an example of zoomorphism in not only art but in a religious context. It is also similar to the term therianthropy; which is the ability to shape shift into animal form, except that with zoomorphism the animal form is applied to a physical object. It means to attribute animal forms or animal characteristics to other animals, or things other than an animal; similar to but broader than anthropomorphism. Contrary to anthropomorphism, which views animal or non-animal behaviour in human terms, zoomorphism is the tendency of viewing human behaviour in terms of the behaviour of animals. It is also used in literature to portray the act of humans or objects with animalistic behaviour or features. The use of zoomorphism served as a decorative element to objects that are typically quite simple in shape and design.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations
