Original "Eric "Fashion Illustration of Blue Ball Gown with Train, circa 1950. This is Erics work at its most elegant. Measures: 25 x 29.5 with frame, art opening 12 x 17. Frame itself has a gold leaf finish with a wide linen mat. Small area of discoloration on bottom right hand side of mat. Excellent condition, great frame and ready to be be displayed on wall. Erics’ artwork is an important part in the golden age of fashion illustration. (Carl Oscar August Erickson (1891-1958), also known as Eric, was an American fashion illustrator. From 1925 to his death in 1958, he collaborated with British and French Vogue. He also drew advertisings for brands like Coty and Elizabeth Arden. Vogue’s 1958 obituary said it best: “To the Paris couture an Eric drawing was the most desired of representations for their designs; to the young, beginning fashion artists, Eric was a minor god, the creator of a fostering climate for fashion art.”) See less
