This chair is far more elevated than your every day rattan.
This is a 1950s High-Back Handmade Rattan Chair, designed by Dirk Van Sliedregt for Rohé Noordwolde in the Netherlands.
Many furniture aficionados claim that these were designed by Bonacina…a common misattribution.
Interestingly enough, in the mid-19th century, the village of Noordwolde in the Netherlands became a center for weaving, basket making, and chair production. While we often think of bamboo and rattan as island-based building materials, they’ve been employed throughout Europe in rattan furniture construction for centuries.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.

- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
