Hand knotted in wool originating circa 1900-1910, this 10x14 antique Persian rug connotes a traditional Bidjar rug design of outstanding color and pattern, drawing on a subtle European sensibility in the movement between rich red and sought-after variations of blue for an aesthetic both regal and iconic for its lineage.
Further on the Design:
This particular antique Bidjar rug enjoys its own take on symmetry with a unique field drawing for this spacious size, likewise atypical for its emphasis on blue as the background color with red dominating the central border—a balance skillfully highlighting by the more whimsical accents in the innermost and outermost borders once again remarking the meticulous, dramatic labor of love in this handmade piece. Furthermore in good condition for its age and lineage.
