Designer poul henningsen poul henningsen designed his first lighting fixtures in 1925-1926 for a salon in paris. His work with louis poulsen continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, poul henningsen strove to create direct, glare-free lighting where it was most useful, and to produce soft shadows using incandescent bulbs. Ph louvre was designed for the adventist church in skodborg, denmark, in 1957. The globe-shaped suspension is made up of 13 shades mounted on four supports. It is a simplified version of an earlier luminaire designed by poul henningsen in 1942, the spiral.
