It was created as part of a collection of emergency furniture for war victims, which explains its simple and functional design. The sideboard has two storage units and five drawers and has acquired a lovely patina over time. It is in vintage condition and would be a striking addition to any room, whether a living room, family room, screening room, or office. It would also fit perfectly in a hospitality or corporate setting such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, or luxury boutique. Using mid-century design is sustainable as it gives new life to furniture that may have been discarded. Mid-century design furniture is often of high quality and can last many years, if not several lifetimes. The wear and tear on some pieces can even provide a glimpse into their previous owner's history. René Gabriel was a renowned French decorative artist and designer whose clean and logical style inspired many new designers in the years following World War II.
