Gregory S.Allen American Painter/Sculptor/Artist 1884-1934. Armor Bronze was used in the early 1900's to make decorative household items that had the look and feel and heft of solid bronze, yet were affordable. This particular piece was originally one of a pair of bookends. The sculptural detailing by GS Allen is incredible. Every small detail with the little girl, the dog, the chair and book all seem so life like. This is the original dark bronze aged patina. The lamp shade is brass.
Top of bookend to base is 6 in., Base Width is 5 in. Depth 4.5. Shade is 8 in wide. Height with shade on is 13 in.
