This work is a nod to the early influences on Judith's work. Vegetables and fruit were the first subjects of her large-scale works; ordinary everyday food items that we often pass by without a glance. But what if we stopped to observe more closely?

Here, the sky background is ambiguous - it could almost be literal, but there is a surreal quality here too - as if the sky were taken out of context.

This work is a gallery-wrapped canvas on a 3" deep wood framework, with the painting extending around the edges. No frame is necessary. See less
