This trumeau mirror in lacquered wood, cream color with golden moldings, has an oil paint on wood, signed A.Thomaray, according to a work by Jean-Baptiste Pater (1695-1736). Royal academician of painting and sculpture, pupil of Antoine Watteau, Jean-Baptiste Pater is considered to be a master of the Rococo movement.
This painting, presents in the upper part, illustrates a gallant swimming between two women and two men.
This trumeau is dark of a large mirror.
The whole is underlined with a twist molding and painted fir green colored chopsticks.
The sides are also molded with rosecuts, rinceds and intertwining interlacing.
The pediment in Doucine is very discreet.
This trumeau mirror will dress a section of wall with charm and sweetness.
