Large statue in volcanic stone / basalt. Cambodia - temple of the Khmer people, reported by a National Geographic reporter in the 60s.
Bodhisttra Avalokiteshvara "the one who looks down on us" with Amithaba Buddha in his bun. with his right hand, he makes the gesture of giving, and with his left, he holds the anointing vessel to bless. Normal condition and patina for this very old Buddha, missing fingers on the left hand, the rest in good overall condition for such a pre-18th century antique.
