This tribal piece features an open field of warm orange enclosed by geometric borders, underscored by rich black tones. Its construction is especially formidable among flatweaves, and it’s aged beautifully in kind. Drawing on Afghan tribal sensibilities, this archaic piece of art exhibiting an old-world charm, features a colorway of beige/brown, black, rust and red. Keen eyes alike will note an element of textural embroidery in the few stripes of red and blue in the borders—a known element of this and similar tribal rug provenances, as well as a playful touch.
