Offered is a lovely 19thc French Hand Painted Tole tray. This black tray has a hand painted floral center decoration that is surrounded by four floral sprays at the edge. The rim of the tray is beautifully accented in gold.
From the French "Tole Pente du Lac", tole painting refers to applying paint and lacquer to tin.
It began as a way to prevent common household objects from rusting. Tole now generally refers to decorated tin and iron wares from the late 19th to the mid 20th century.
This tray is in very nice antique condition. It does show wear commensurate with age, but still displays beautifully. There is an area of missing paint on the front near one of the floral edge sprays, but this does not take away from the beauty of this piece. It lays flat. The floral paint decoration is soft and has a lovely patina. This tray would look great on it's own, or mixed in with your french country display to make a perfect vignette. You could use it as a serving tray, or to display your best champagne coupes. There is a price tag on the back from a previous owner's purchase.

This tray measures approximately 16 inches in diameter.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller

Cancellations

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
