Antique 19th Century RARE Large Wooden Tramp Art Mirror 1800s- 24x24”
Truly incredible and rare, large, 19th century Tramp Art wall mirror. This mirror is very dimensional as the mirror layer has a hinge along the bottom, allowing the top to almost “accordion open.” There are two metal eye hooks on the top of the mirror for hanging. You could also display leaning up against a wall. Mirror itself is beveled and has a lot of age coming through. Mirror held in place by multiple, very old, wooden swivels. Back of the mirror frame has very old wooden slats. They are nailed in.
Top of that portion of the 1st mirror layer has two metal eye hooks which are obviously very old, but the other hook holding it to the backing of the frame is modern (shown in photos). This is not visible when hung.
The varnish has an alligator effect as it’s oxidized over the decades. Could definitely see this in a moody powder bathroom. Seriously an unreal and beautiful piece of Tramp art. Very strong and heavy weight.

Only alteration would be that since the original chain to hold the mirror upright in its accordian position is missing, previous owners have used a more modern hook. The one on the other side is still missing, though this modern piece holds it up without any issue, and it is not visible when hung. less
