Made by Stickley for its Williamsburg Reserve Collection under license from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, these chairs are executed in … Read more Made by Stickley for its Williamsburg Reserve Collection under license from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, these chairs are executed in solid mahogany with dark, reddish brown medium sheen finish. The deeply padded seats were professionally recovered in 2104 in a dark navy blue window pane plaid with accents of deep red, gold and green and feature antique brass nailhead trim. Inspired by a chair in the CWF’s collection that is said to have been made in the cabinetmaker’s shop at Monticello, these chairs feature straight, square lines and an intricate double-helix back reminiscent of Regency, Neoclassical and Art Deco styles. These chairs were purchased used in 2014: information about their exact age and history is lacking. See less
