The deeply padded seats were professionally recovered in 2104 in a dark navy blue window pane plaid with accents of deep red, gold and green and feature antique brass nailhead trim. Inspired by a chair in the CWF’s collection that is said to have been made in the cabinetmaker’s shop at Monticello, these chairs feature straight, square lines and an intricate double-helix back reminiscent of Regency, Neoclassical and Art Deco styles. These chairs were purchased used in 2014: information about their exact age and history is lacking. See less
