Lindus was one of a group of Persian-inspired decors the pottery introduced in the 1910s — stylized tulip and carnation forms in red, ochre, blue and green over a matte green ground, drawn from Iznik and Near Eastern ceramics rather than the usual Dutch florals.

Made around 1910–1917, these sit right at the turn from Art Nouveau to Art Deco: the motifs are floral, but they're formalized into strict symmetry and hard-edged bands in a way that already looks ahead to Deco. The waisted, trumpet-necked shape shows the pattern across three registers: a blossoming cartouche at the shoulder, the plain green column, and a broad band of interlaced flowerheads around the base. Each vase carries the factory's mark underneath, and hand-painted Persian-decor pieces from the firm's peak years are the ones collectors look for.

Both vases were converted to lamps without drilling or permanent alteration, so they remain intact as collectibles, and each is fitted with a sage-green cloth cord. The new drum shades are left plain and soft white so nothing competes with the painting below.
