Where to begin, this … Read more Lovely hand made in England circa 1900 fully restored Whisky brown leather Gainsborough carver desk armchair. Where to begin, this is one of the best looking Gainsborough armchairs I have seen in a long time, it has a wonderful form which has aged spectacularly. The frame is beech with reeded legs, the leather upholstery was fitted plain, hand nail tacked in place then hand dyed Condition wise, the chair has been washed back hand dyed six times, antiqued, sealed, waxed down and polished, it is the only chair of its type in the world with this exact colour finish. The padding in the very top back has dropped over the years the wood frame has all the original ware and tare, it has been repolished so this again adds to the look and feel Dimensions Height:- 103cm Width:- 60cm Depth:- 74cm Seat height:- 49cm.
