We ae delighted to offer for sale this sublime antique William IV circa 1830 Flamed Mahogany Pedestal stand with small coat rail from Princess Diana Spencer’s London family home Spencer House
I have recently purchased a number of items from the Spencer House Estate sale, they include various sets of dining chairs, a desk, some architectural salvage in the form of some doors with Parliment hinges, a William IV marble topped centre table and lastly some marble topped console tables. Each item will be listed in the coming weeks, if you would like a list of the full range of stock please send me an email, each listing includes one or two pictures of the items in situs at the property Naturally this is a once in a lifetime chance to purchase this piece, it will never come up for sale again, the Spencer family no longer sell their family heirlooms. The sale includes one original picture of the piece in situs at the Spencer house in The main office
This pedestal dates to 1830 and its flamed mahogany, it is by design a pedestal stand for displaying antiques like busts and so on, the inside top has a small modern little brass rail so you can hang coats inside
This would have been in the house from way before Princess Diana’s birth right up to 2022, the good lady as we know started dating Prince Charles around the age of 16 years old so chances are the princess would have walked passed this piece many times and may even used it to hang a jacket
Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be some age and use related patina marks here and there, mostly its in fine order.
Dimensions: height:- 169 cm. width:- 54.5 cm. depth:- 53.5 cm. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point.
