"Girl at the balustrade" Signed M.Groove. Framed .
The Düsseldorf artist Marga Groove-Marcovic, born in 1920, was a very versatile artist. The enclosed exhibition catalog contains information about her artistic career and training.
Children were a favorite subject for her. Although this watercolor is not dated, it could be tentatively dated to the 1950s/60s, as according to the catalog, the artist mainly created watercolors during this period. The strong, bright and friendly colors stand in stark contrast to the girl's dark, sad and empty eyes. Perhaps due to the traumatic war experiences of these children. The dimensions given refer to the picture with frame, the watercolor has a height of 22 cm and a width of 30 cm. Very good general condition. Beautiful frame and passe-partout. Hanging present.
