A McCoy saltglazed stone ware pitcher or tankard in green from the 1940's and ready to use as a pitcher or lovely vase. The relief pattern on both sides are grape clusters with leaves contained in a shield design. There is beading and arrows along the top and base of the pitcher.
Also, there is a consistent small scale crazing pattern throughout the surface which is a result of it's age. Kind of like human wrinkles.....very common.
Was made in Ohio. McCoy Pottery has been around since 1848 and is very collectible. A great feel of Americana.
Size: 7 1/4" wide from handle to spout, 8 3/8" high.

There is a 3/8" pop-mark to the left of the shield - see photo. Also there is a cream colored place along the bottom edge just below the handle. It is not a chip, but is where the coloring did not take during manufacturing. There are no cracks. I filled it up with water and it does not leak. less
