"The Ocean and the Beach" by Pat Badt is a fascinating painting especially for Ocean lovers! It encapsulates the serene yet dynamic relationship between the ocean and its timeless partner, the beach. It sits in a white lacquer frame.
As one gazes upon this artwork, the eye is immediately drawn to the small and uneven bands dominating the canvas. Bands of blue, green, and sand-colored strokes mingle, creating a tapestry that conveys the interplay of light and reflection upon both water and shore. Subtle touches of white delicately enhance the luminosity, inviting viewers to feel the gentle ebb and flow of the tides. The play of colors narrates the intertwined relationship between stability and flux. Notably, two larger strokes command attention in the upper part, hinting at distant waves and their foamy presence.
Pat Badt is a contemporary painter who also makes artist books. She received many awards and prizes including a National Endowment for the Arts grant in painting. She has exhibited in Brussels, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and places between. Her work is included in collections at the American Embassy in Riga, Latvia, the Ruth Hughes Collection of Artist Books at Oberlin College, Bryn Mawr College, University of Tennessee, and the Allentown Art Museum.
"I paint through a woven matrix of string that demands that I am always on the surface of the painting. The gesture is restricted and time is advanced in a kind of geologic accumulation of layers. These layers of paint become history. Their historical sources come from specific events and are often included as source material on the backs of the paintings or reflected in the titles.
I live in the Lehigh Valley, that’s where my main studio is, and I live in a more rural setting—there’s an apple orchard and a field of corn or soybeans outside my studio window that constantly inspires me."

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
