Early 20th century French floral still life oil painting tablescape on canvas featuring eggplant by Henri Dezire (1878-1965). The palette includes yellow, purple and is full of texture.

About the Artist: French artist Henri Dezire’s (1878-1965) formal academic was in William Bouguereau and Gabriel Ferrier workshop at the Académie Julian. However, it has been reported that this influence faded as became highly influenced by Manet through his self-teaching at the Louvre. He had numerous exhibits in his lifetime and his paintings are now among the collections of the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Museum of Fine Arts in Nantes, Lille or La Rochelle. His breadth of work ranges from still life to landscapes.
