Hand-knotted in durable wool, the highly stylized blooming floral symbols in rustic pink are the only symbol in the all-over field design with a finely woven black outline, and the absence of this feature from the rich green branch patterns creates a dimensionality in this piece like an immersive portrait of nature. Moreover, the lack of an outline on the branch patterns leads the eye to the textural beige background without any discernible border, a not-unheard-of but seldom-seen stylistic choice in select Sparta pieces.
