This beautiful vintage serving piece, which dates from the mid- to late-20th century, features a lovely hand-carved wooden base with handles and an exquisitely hand-painted ceramic cloche cover. The sides of the cloche are decorated with traditional folk characters -- a lovey milkmaid and her cow in a field of beautiful flowers. A hen sits atop the cloche for easy serving. Perfect for serving/storing cheese, bread, charcuterie, and small pastries. Although exact provenance is not known, the piece likely was created by artisans in Switzerland, Austria, or Germany.
