Elegant cutlery set made of solid silver for twelve people consisting of 93 parts in original wooden box. Date of manufactory: circa 1890 material: massive silver '800' form type: decent smooth, simple design called 'violin case', without monogram original wooden casette: this silver cutlery set is stored in the original solid wood case with one removable compartment, equipped with the original buckskin cover, which is in very good condition. 93 pieces in total: 1st compartment: 12 soup spoons / 12 starter forks / 12 coffee spoons / 2 spice spoons / 2 spice bowls with glass inserts / 1 soup ladle / 1 sauce ladle / 1 large sugar ladle / 1 ragout spoon / 1 toothpick container 2nd compartment: 12 dinner knives / 12 starter knives / 12 dinner forks / 12 knife benches total weight of all cutlery parts: ca. 5470 grams / ca. 175.88 troy oz dimensions of the cabinet: width: 52,0 cm / 20.47 inches depth: 35,5 cm / 13.97 inches height: 11,5 cm / 4.52 inches marks / hallmarks: diana head hallmark - austrian official hallmark 1872 - 1922 for 800 silver knight helmet brand - for j.c. Klinkosch vienna joseph carl klinkosch (1822-1888) had been taught by his father carl who had owned the silver manufactory 'mayerhofer & klinkosch', having been founded in the year 1830 by stephan mayerhofer and carl klinkosch: the manufactory mayerhofer & klinkosch had been one of the most successfull silver manufactories of the old imperial austria. There was a change in the year 1869 when the son josef carl klinkosch became single owner of the manufactory - the company's name was changed into: 'gold-, silber- und metallwaren-fabrik j. C. Klinkosch'. The company's success remained the same: josef carl klinkosch worked as a purveyor of the austrian emperor as his father had done and received numerous orders from his nobility. Bibliography: waltraud neuwirth, wiener gold-und silberschmiede und ihre punzen (= viennese gold-and silversmiths and their signs), vol. I , vienna 1976, pages 295 - 301 and vol. Ii (page 372) condition: very good all silver parts cleaned and polished, cassette is in very good original condition. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
