Decorative wooden transport case from the Meiji period.
The travel case is adorned with metal fittings, black lacquered on the exterior, and features a removable lid.
The interior is colored reddish-brown and bears the mark "上野院" (Ueno-in), suggesting that this case may have belonged to a Buddhist temple.
A beautiful and authentic piece that can serve as a side table, plant stand, or display for art objects.
