The six-sided shaft, decorated with … Read more This fully chased gilded bronze candlestick features a chalice decorated with a crown and leaves.
The six-sided shaft, decorated with stained glass, is embellished with the three figures of Catholicism: the Virgin Mary, Joseph and Saint John the Baptist.
The whole rests on a base also chiselled with scroll motifs, ending on six bulbous acanthus-leaf feet.
Produced in limited numbers, four are held in the Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus parish church at Nieppe in the Hauts de France region.
This candle-holder will appeal for the precision of its workmanship and its radiant patina.
