Still life oil painting depicting basket of flowers with shears and hat, by Nancy Gosnell. Nancy Gosnell is an American artist perhaps best known for her portraiture, most notably the only portrait Beatles legend John Lennon ever sat for. While on vacation in Bermuda in the summer of 1980, Lennon admired paintings by Gosnell that hung in the home he rented from the artist's friend Rolf Luthi. Lennon and his then 4-year-old son Sean sat for the portrait which was a gift to wife Yoko (and reportedly still hangs above the piano at the Dakota apartment).
