"IGISSO PROXENOU – One of the most exquisite reliefs showcased at the Archaeological Museum portrays a significant stele discovered in Kerameikos, depicting the noblewoman Igisso, daughter of Proxenou. Seated elegantly on a fine armchair, she dons a lavish dress, a striking contrast to her maid who holds her mistress's jewels. Igisso is depicted taking one jewel, a gesture hinting at a farewell. This original masterpiece dates back to the 5th century B.C.
Crafted from terracotta and meticulously painted in black with a green patina, this plaque includes a small leather strap equipped for hanging, ideal for displaying this remarkable piece. The reproduction plaque is expertly made in Greece."
