This classic silver water pitcher is from the mid 20th century. It is in excellent condition, and adds a touch of elegance to any dinner or cocktail party.
The inscription on the bottom of the pitcher (see last photo) is not easy to read, but it says the following:
F.B.R.
TAUNTON, MASS
SILVER ON COPPER
1707
According to Wikipedia: "F. B. Rogers Silver Co. was a silversmithing company founded in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts in 1883. It was acquired by Edmund W. Porter and L.B. West, who incorporated the company and moved manufacturing operations to Taunton, Massachusetts in 1886." It was sold and became a division of the National Silver Company in 1955. So clearly this pitcher predates that.
