After the Harvest was created after a summer road trip with the family. We drove from the south up to the midwest among so many fields and farms. Some may find flat land boring, but I have always daydreamed about running around acres of land and eating what I've grown. The growth and greenery is abundant and lush, so what about after it's harvested and enjoyed? I wanted to see beauty in what is left behind in a more abstract way. Divots and dirt, but also pattern and texture. I wanted to use different shapes of canvas to experience with composition while keeping the actual painting simple. My art is never born out of complexity and technicality. It's simple but also detailed.
This piece pairs well with soft finishes to mix in the abstract as well as the sharp angles from the triangle.
