Hand-knotted in wool, this 5x7 modern rug from our Tiger rug line in Modern Classics collection, has been particularly inspired by antique Peking tiger rug design.
On the design:
History meets art in this elegant piece with animal pictorials which is a rich new take on a historic style and a love letter to animal rugs in folk art for all their unique charm. Inspired by illustrations of Tigers in Peking pictorial rugs, this modern rug enjoys delicious colors depicting a tiger roaring. Admirers of the craft will very much appreciate a Peking color scheme, navy blue and gold with other complementary tones underscoring a roaring tiger in the central field. Keen eyes will appreciate that this is one of the most interesting pictorial rugs, with all of its bold, graphic sense of drama and such regal colors.
