It represents an internal scene, an nineteenth -century environment with an elderly man who reads books in his study.

The ancient picture is signed Leleux Armand, a French painter. Leleux Armand Hubert Simon (1818-1895),

He was born in Paris and was a pupil of Ingres with whom he makes a trip to Rome.

He usually exposes to the "Salon de Paris" where he received many medals in 1844, 1847,1848 and 1859.

Stay in Germany and Switzerland where he participates in all the exhibitions of these countries. Its interiors are highly appreciated.

Currently many works of this artist are preserved in many museums in France.

The ancient painting brings a beautiful golden frame in the Zecchino gold leaf, original and coeval with ancient work.
