Hand-knotted in wool, circa 1960 - 1970, this 5x8 vintage Müren Art Deco rug drawn on primitivist tribal and Scandinavian Rya styles in its big colorful leaves’ pattern in green, blue and beige/brown.
On the Design:
Connoisseurs will appreciate yet another fabulous example of the wide range of influences that inspired Müren’s eclectic, fabulous works. This design evokes a look like some rare primitivist tribal rugs or even Scandinavian Rya such as Danish and Swedish Deco pile rugs—among the few styles known for such recognizable explorations of abstract minimalist ways to look at folk art like this superimposition of colorful leaves on a rich red background. This piece has a graphic and bold, yet playful and approachable presence—part of what makes his works masterpieces to admirers of the craft yet still so distinct and recognizable among the few that remain today.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller

- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
