Set of 3 small scena elemento murano mirrors by nikolai kotlarczyk dimensions: d 3 x w 30 x h 30 cm (each). Materials: silvered carved glass, dark gray wood back. Also available in other designs and dimensions. Elemento is a series of solid glass mirrors full of depth and bold graphic lines, expertly crafted by hand in murano. This collection is the extension of the scena collection, they take little details from that, always creating charm. Working with the skilled glass artists of murano, subtle use of perspective and depth was created by the intricate carving and grinding of the mirrored glass surfaces, then silvered to give depth to the details. Scena is a series of solid glass mirrors full of depth and bold graphic lines, expertly crafted by hand in murano. A central inspiration was the forms and spatial designs of the architect andrea palladio, and his constant focus on the vista within his work. /scè-na/ from the framing of the landscapes surrounding la rotonda, to the influence of the renaissance painters in the illusionary set design for the teatro olimpico, the palladio's architecture constantly played with our own perception of space. Nikolai kotlarczyk is an australian designer based in copenhagen, denmark since 2013. Graduating from the queensland college of arts in brisbane, his experience in australia was strongly influenced by his time with renowned design and manufacturing house tait. Nikolai’s studio focuses on design pieces full of narrative. A strong connection with geography, history, materiality and rituals can be seen within his pieces. Working within a self-expressed decorative minimalist style, his work aims to simplify the act of story telling through an honest pallet of materials, and bold forms. His work includes self initiated edition pieces and design pieces for manufactures, and has been shown in a number of international exhibitions including milan, paris, stockholm, copenhagen and melbourne. Nikolai is a member of studio and workshop hal 4 in nordhavn, regularly contributes to australian online publication yellow trace, and was a co-founder of the culture-house in copenhagen's inner north, øen.
