A simple … Read more This colorful, contemporary 12" x 9" still life oil painting captures the beauty of line, color and form. A simple transparent green wine bottle and dark blue ceramic creamer are nestled with a pear and some purple plums. The colors are warm and inviting and the composition has a taste of tradition running though its unique, simplistic style.

Inspiration for this painting came from my love for painting still life's and working with items I have collected over the years. As symbols of place and time they also become something new in the context of a painting. I love incorporating fruit because their availability changes throughout the year and they always remind me of the organic nature of color and it's power to elicit memory, sensation and desire.
