This 15x15 kilim rug from our European selections marks a contemporary take on 18th century Aubusson tapestry flatweaves. Handwoven in fine quality wool, this piece is from the earliest productions of R&K Principal Josh Nazmiyal, newly unveiled for the first time following his deep love for this regal style.
On the Design:
The piece features an elaborate medallion and floral patterns in the curved wreath and garland style of French classics. Its colorway favors beige-brown and pink with salmon and teal in the many hues further inspired by neoclassical palettes. Keen eyes will further admire the fine details and subtleties for this adaptation of scale to this large size. The whole look is an immersive, elegant nod to the sophisticated Aubusson rug style in a versatile square size with vast design applications today.
