This pot is in excellent condition, just waiting to be presented with steam rising from inside, alongside some freshly baked bread and a pat of butter on a breakfast tray near you. The dark green color of the glazed pottery is absolutely amazing and will undoubtedly proclaim that teatime is anytime, all year around, from now on

You could say that Carl-Harry Stålhane was Rörstrand's answer to Stig Lindberg, the super designer at rival Gustavsberg. Although Carl-Harry Stålhane was a more undercover variant of the flamboyant and popular Stig Lindberg - Stålhane was undoubtedly one of the big stars both nationally and internationally on the ceramic art scene in the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

He began his career at Rörstrand as Gunnar Nylund's assistant in 1939 and just like Nylund, Stålhane began to show his full artistic breadth in stoneware. Between the 1950s and 1960s, he designed the iconic "Alfabet" vases and bowls. This artware series, where the objects are either cast or hand-turned, was produced in a few hundred copies per model and is very highly sought after by collectors of Nordic ceramics. See less
