This stamp of four initials was determined by a researcher and corresponds to a family of parisian cabinetmakers of dutch origin. This sculpture represents a young child in characteristic clothes of that time in the arms of his mother. It is a very interesting room exceptional for this stamp.
bernard van riesen burgh, sometimes spelled bernard van risenburgh, better known under the 4 letters bvrb, the stamp with which they signed their furniture is a dynasty of cabinetmakers, originally from holland, and working in paris since the end of the 17th century. The three generations bear the same first name and surname, van riesen burgh (the latter sometimes with a different spelling), it was therefore used to differentiate them by a figure.
bernard iii acquired his father's workshop on october 18, 1764 without bothering to master mastery and abandoned cabinetmaking for sculpture. So here we have a rare and perhaps unique sculpture produced by bernard iii at the end of 18th. This piece has an attribution mark,
