A set of two Blue Willow bowls; ideal for soup, side salads, cereal, rice, ice cream and so much more! For those of us who are blue and white or transferware aficionados, these plates showcase the beauty of deep cobalt blue in an intricate chinoiserie design. The classic Willow pattern depicts a traditional Chinese scene that is widely recognized and includes a weeping willow tree, a pagoda, three figures on a bridge, a figure on a boat and two flying birds.
These bowls were made between 1921 and 1941 when marked "Japan." No two are identical since hands-on work was involved in making the blanks and in the transferware process.
Dimensions: one is 7-7/8"w x 1-3/8"h, one is 7-3/8"w x 1-3/8"h.
Capacity: holds up to 16 ounces of liquid.
