The name of the couch refers to the Hidra, a mythical creature with multiple heads, which can be a nod to the modular design and the versatility of the couch. Luca Scacchetti (1952-2015)

Luca Scacchetti was born in Milan, where he graduated in Architecture. His first works, from the early 80s, are rehabilitations and housing constructions in Lombardy, Switzerland and Germany, although shortly after he also passed to Italy. It is especially recognized for its numerous interior projects, both for homes and for offices or exhibitions, in addition to several contests for public spaces. However, he also dealt with the design of furniture, decoration and tissue objects, where his designs for Poltrona Frau stand out.

FRU POLTRONA

Poltrona Frau is an Italian furniture manufacturer company founded in 1912 by Renzo Frau. The company's name combines "Potrona", the Italian word for armchair, and "Frau", the surname of its founder. In 1926 it became an official provider of the Italian Royal Family, the Dynasty of the Savoy, and for the 30s it had already become an international status symbol. Its activity is based on the creation of elegant furniture, inspired by tradition but designed thinking about the future, guaranteeing reliability and quality.
