Charles Gaston Penchaud, painter-portraitist and honorary professor at the Lycée d'Orléans, was born on October 6, 1856 in Poitiers (Vienne). He married Ida Marie Joséphine Huet, born February 20, 1864 in Couhé (Vienne).
Charles Penchaud died on November 11, 1930 at his home, 8, cloître de la Cathédrale, aged 74. His wife died on July 2, 1954 at 15, rue Notre-Dame-de-Recouvrance. This piece has an attribution mark,
