Handwoven in wool, circa 1950-1960, this 7x7 vintage Afghan tribal kilim square rug, with vertical stripes, is a Palas-style flatweave with a possibly Bidjar or Shahsavan tribal influence.
On the design:
With a Bidjar or Shahsavan tribal influence, this Palas-style flatweave features vertical stripes in red, blues, bright pink and off-white. Connoisseurs will admire the vibrant colorway that plays joyfully in the patterns, and the movement created by these variations. The striped pattern of this square rug, is reflective of signature Afghan designs.
