Shenango introduced its Twelve Days of Christmas series in 1964, issuing designs through 1975. Each plate interprets a verse from the traditional Christmas carol in Litzel’s distinctive period illustration style, creating a charming combination of American commercial china and mid-century graphic design.

This group includes six different plates from the series:

• A Partridge in a Pear Tree
• Two Turtle Doves
• Three French Hens
• Five Golden Rings
• Six Geese a-Laying
• Seven Swans a-Swimming

Produced by Shenango China of New Castle, Pennsylvania. The playful illustrations make these particularly appealing displayed together on a wall or shelf, as well as mixed into a vintage holiday table setting.

A festive and increasingly hard-to-assemble group of American Mid-Century Modern holiday dinnerware.
