Single large Chinese table lamp, crafted in classic porcelain with a crackle glaze and lacquered wooden base. The lamp has been applied with a brown dragon playing with a flaming pearl, with additional cranes flying across the body of the lamp. The image of a dragon chasing or playing a flaming pearl has ties to the celestial, perhaps a symbol of a lunar or solar eclipse. In Chinese literature, the pearl is supposed to bring great value to the dragon that seeks it.
